Hello! It seems that emerald has established itself as a perfect color for dining rooms. Remember my last post about color of the year featuring beautiful eclectic dining room (you can find the article here)? Well, Ghislaine Viñas, a renown New York interior designer with many awards and recognitions, has chosen emerald for her breakfast area, too. What I find inspiring about her design are two things: the breathtaking wall decoration made out of simple plates in varying shades of green plus white pieces, as well as the unique shape of the table top (by Mike & Maaike). Ghislaine Viñas breaks the rules here, showing that you can choose the unexpected for your home. Look at the collection of the plates – I love the even edges of the arrangement which make nice reference to straight lines in the room (walls, table). Round plates, ball-shaped chandelier and rounded window frames add softness, which brings pleasant balance to this space.
What is your opinion about this breakfast/dining room?

Amazing wall installation, Magda. I first thought it had to be a wallpaper with all the plate edges cut that neat. Great find!

I know, the straight edges make this whole installation modern and unique. After discovering this room I felt in love with plates on the wall

amazing find, I thought it was wall paper. I also love how you create the collages. Next time we meet you should teach me how to that.

Louise, I can give you some tips, however, I do not have a ready recipe for creating collages. I just try out and see what I like. Plus, I also search the web for inspirations.
