There is truly no better way to get inspired and learn decorating skills than to observe talented professionals. How do these people work? What makes their interiors so special? Is it a color scheme? Or maybe some unexpected accessories? Are they following some magic rules – or maybe no rules at all? What are their tips and tricks? In order to find out the answer, I decided to start a new column titled „Making it nicer with…”, where I will take a closer look at work of chosen stylists and designers. They are a true source of inspiration when it comes to creating nice and nicer spaces!
For the first post in this series I have chosen very talented designer and TV host Sarah Richardson. Whenever I look at the pictures of the interiors designed and decorated by Sarah, I am in total awe. This lady is a magician in the world of interiors and can transform every dull house or apartment into warm and welcoming space. Mrs. Richardson, how do you do that? Sarah Richardson has over 15 years of experience in designing TV sets, residential and commercial spaces. She is a host of four highly popular TV design shows, as well as she owns a furniture design company. Pretty impressive, huh?
I picked three spaces designed by Sarah for Interior Design Show in Toronto in 2011. The dining room, bedroom and home office are all exploding with vivid colors and energy. I could move in right away into such an exciting home!
I really like the concept of mixing different styles, fabrics and patterns which is present in each room. Sarah Richardson also uses many unexpected accessories that make the rooms very exciting and unique. My personal favorite one: dining room chair covered in different fabrics!
The mixtures of blues in the home office is just stunning! Thanks to the light background, the color scheme is nicely balanced. What is your favorite element in Sarah Richardson’s interiors? Did you find any inspiration for your own home?
